NOSY BE AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

One of the reasons for which we decided to build a house in Nosy be, is because, in addition to being a paradise on earth, it always gives us the opportunity to perform many different activities. In fact despite it is now 10 years that we travel around it far and wide, it never ceases to amaze us.

If you are interested in making tours we can provide you with the contacts of trusted people to whom we usually address ourselves.

THE SEA

Surrounded by a spectacular coral reef the island allows you to snorkel and see marine life already a few meters from the shore. Moving around to visit the many islands at short distance, you often meet also dolphins and turtles.

Among the tours of the islands we recommend:

- Nosy Iranja: Dep. from Ambondrona and arrival in 1.40 h.

- Nosy Komba + Tanikely: Dep. from Hell-Ville and arrival in 0.30 h.

- Nosy Sakatia: Dep. from the beach of the house and arrive in 0.15 h.

- Nosy Fany: Dep. from the beach of the house and arrival at 0.30 h.

- Nosy Mitsio: Dep. from the beach of the house and arrival in 2.40 h.

If you love the open sea instead:

- Deep sea fishing: swordfish, groupers, carter fish and marlin.

- Diving: to explore the depths of the coral reef.

- Snorkeling: to discover the surface of the coral reef.

- Whale shark: trip to the open sea to swim with the mammal.

THE EARTH

Not less will be the land that surrounds you; offering you the opportunity to have short walks or real trekking.

Walking around, is very easy. You'll often find people on your path, and they will show you the way if you get lost.

On the other hand, if you are an engine and off-road enthusiast, you can rent quads or motorbikes and take a trip around the island.

Equally beautiful and always involving are also the tours to the market where you'll get in contact with local products and with the true soul of the island, the wonderful people who live there.

THE PEOPLE

The Malagasy are known for being an extremely welcoming population open to foreigners. The locals are friendly and helpful and even with those who do not speak French there is always a way to communicate through a smile or a look. Childrens, particularly amused by westerners, are often the easiest channel to get in touch with adults.

This population, immediately welcomed us with extreme respect without ever losing the pride of a population, certainly poor in economic resources, but that has much to teach about the capacity of beeing happy with little.
